Mein Terrier hat deutlich Schwierigkeiten beim Wasserlassen, kombiniert mit verstärktem Harndrang, wobei allerdings dann kaum was passiert. Könnte er eine ernsthafte Krankheit haben? Ich beobachte das jetzt schon einige Tage.

Ursache könnten möglicherweise Kalziumoxalatsteine sein, so wie du die Symptome beschreibst. Die werden auch Whewellit- oder Wedellitsteine genannt. Neben Struvitsteinen sind Kalziumoxalatsteine die zweihäufigste Harnsteinart beim Hund. Vor allem kastrierte ältere Hunde und Rüden mit Übergewicht neigen dazu, Kalziumoxalatsteine zu bilden. Hier zum Beispiel kannst du darüber einiges in Erfahrung bringen. Zu viel Kalzium durch das Futter kann auch als Verursacher für Kalziumoxalatsteine in Frage kommen.
